A photographic guide to Eleven windsocks for Brunel, installed between November 2019 – May 2020 on the roofs of the original campus buildings (Richard Sheppard Architects, 1969). The photographs include Linnet on the Lecture Centre and Goldfinch on Antonin Artuad.

Brunel University’s campus is three miles from RAF Northolt, and three miles to the proposed site of Heathrow Airport’s third runway. Five-strip windsocks comply with standard FAA aviation specifications, used by pilots to determine wind direction and speed. The standard two-colour design has been modified so that each windsock reflects the plumage of local birds.

Printed on 140 gsm uncoated Splendorgel, cover 300 micron Vanguard ‘Bordeaux’.
