Resuscitator is a text run through by gutters, all leading to a burned-out wreck. Language, quivering in an alley, fills these spaces like smoke and says “There are no private streets just as there are no private bodies.”

Hesse K. is a doll of no renown, alleged ‘cult emerging lit-girl’, and the author of Disquiet Drive, published by Pilot Press in July 2024. She tries to write from the fringes or where things are sharp, about class, the lyric; having a body and its slippages.

Resuscitator was commissioned by TACO! in the context of the Gusty Ferro exhibition Hello Neighbours, and is the first in a series of commissioned texts that connect to the TACO! exhibition programme.
