Visual Control Room

Regular price

by Phil Coy

Artist photo series of Heathrow Airport’s Air Traffic Control – the highest visual control room [VCR] in the UK – as seen from locations all over the boroughs of Hillingdon and Hayes, accentuating it as a frequent reminder of your proximity to the worlds second busiest Airport.

The photographs of the tower capture places on the peripheries of the airport, so that the recurring motif of utilitarian architecture recedes. They show places at one step removed from the hustle and bustle of the airport, at positions on the distant perimeters of Heathrow.

Typeset in Albertus, font designed by Berthold Wolpe, circa 1932.
